Undergraduate research

Examine star formation in the distant universe. Unlock the secrets of the human mind. Create technologies that will help save lives in the world's poorest countries. Whatever you want to do, getting involved in our research means you can help change people's lives for the better.

Why take part in research?

  • Plan your career – get experience in the field you want to move into or sharpen your skills for further study.
  • Develop your research skills – learn how to manage research data, create a literature review and enhance your research skills in our specialist workshops.
  • Present your research – if you're selected for our Junior Research Associate Scheme you can exhibit your research in a poster competition - the top two posters are chosen to represent Sussex at BCUR's Posters in Parliament exhibition.
  • Meet other researchers – network with students or academics who are working in your field and share a passion for discovery.
